Storefront glass is a non-load-bearing aluminum framing system, typically 1-3/4in x 4-1/2in or 2in x 4-1/2in in section, glazed with tempered or laminated lites and installed at ground level. The glass sits in the frame by set position center-set, front-set or offset-set. We fabricate, install, and handle emergency board-up and replacement across Cape Cod.

Move up to the 2in x 4-1/2in section when the openings get tall or wide, or when the frontage is exposed to open water and the design wind pressure climbs. Choose laminated rather than tempered where you want a lite that stays in the opening after it breaks ground-floor security frontage, anywhere a fallout risk matters, or when an insurer asks for it.
And if the glazing is running past a floor line or needs engineered anchorage back to the structure, you are looking at a curtain wall, not a storefront, and we will say so.
